The best of Leonardo Nierman in Puebla

Continuing with our main objective of bringing the best of world art to Puebla, Galería de los Sapos is pleased to present: "The best of Leonardo Nierman in Puebla", an exhibition that, through more than 20 works in painting, drawing, graphics and sculpture , gives an account of Nierman's characteristic style, in addition to allowing appreciation of variety in his creative stages. His work communicates harmony with a deep inclination towards an orderly and attractive power, his creations are positive and stimulating themselves that may lack literary references or logical dialogue, but that, in a strange and refreshing way.

Leonardo Nierman (Mexico City, 1932) is an internationally renowned Mexican artist. His works are known around the world and have been exhibited in museums, galleries and public spaces in various cities in Mexico, the United States, and several countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia. In the beginning, he thought about dedicating himself body and soul to music, he discovered that his mastery was seen in the brushes, and with them he was creating symphonies of color, of form, along with elements that are not merely anecdotal, such as the musical instruments that are usually found in his paintings as a form of expression and connection with his harmonious interpretation of life.

He has been awarded with distinctions such as the Palm of Prayer to the Fine Arts of Monaco or The Golden Medal of the League of Art of Chicago, among others. His abstract and dynamic style stands out for the use of color, gesture and line that he captures both in painting, drawing and engraving. Also, his interest in dynamic form leads him to produce sculptures that convey the sensation of movement and that play with the effects of light from the use of steel as the distinctive material of his creations.
